On the banks of the Serchio river rises Lucca, one of the most famous cities in Tuscany. Called “the city of 100 churches”, Lucca is rich in history and art. also for many years now, in the month of October Lucca becomes “Fantasy” thanks to the now well known event Lucca Comics & Games.
Among the many things to see in Lucca, the Piazza di San Michele with its beautiful Church of San Michele in Foro, the Basilica of San Frediano as well as the Clock Tower and the Guinigi Tower.
The Lucca wine Tasting tour will allow you to discover the city living like a Lucca for a day. Italy is famous for its gastronomy and its wines, so you will have to know what makes Tuscany famous too. Along the way you will discover the majestic walls of the city, the narrow streets, the tall towers and the shops of artisans and artists. The tour will start from the Lucca train station and continue on foot through the majestic city walls, from where you can admire the city. The first stop will be an old winery, a small typical Tuscan winery where you can order a glass of wine and a snack.
Later, thanks to your guide, you will move towards Piazza Anfiteatro, the only oval square in all of Italy, built on the foundations of an ancient Roman amphitheater. Here you can taste a glass of craft beer produced in the Garfagnana mountains and, of course, accompanied by a plate of cold cuts and pecorino cheese. The tour continues in a place where you can taste the “fettunta”, a typical bruschetta with extra virgin olive oil, where you can drink another glass of good Tuscan wine. Our last stop will be a small wine bar where we will have the last glass. We suggest you to taste the ancient liqueur of Lucca whose recipe is kept secret: the Biadina, to drink with pine nuts.
