About the Montalcino Wine Tour
Book the Montalcino Wine Tour and jump into the world of wine! The patrons of the Corte Pavone Winery will guide you around vineyards and wine cellars, all while teaching you about the wine-making process. Afterward, indulge in a delicious wine-tasting session and sample 6 local wines, paired with gourmet bites.
You’ll be guided through the vineyard and wine cellar of a family-run winery: the Corte Pavone winery. Stroll down the vineyard’s Brunello Cru path, breathe in the heady air of maturing grapes and discover the world of wine.
The Montalcino Wine Tour includes a delicious wine tasting, including the famous Brunello di Montalcino red wine. All in all, you’ll taste six wines served in three flights, paired with six complementary gourmet bites.
During the Montalcino Wine Tour, your tour guide will teach you all about wine-making - for example, the advantages of different aging vessels. Wood preserves roundness and mouthfeel, steel doesn’t impart flavor, and clay gives a purer fruit impression.
This is a wine-tasting tour in Montalcino, a hillside town near Siena, Tuscany. You’ll be surrounded by rolling Tuscan hills, and as you explore the winery’s exterior (at 500 meters above sea level), admire the panoramic views of the valley.

We were staying in Florence, but decided to hop to Montalcino for a day tour for some wine visits and tastings. This Brunello Wine Tour was perfect! I love wine, but had never tried biodynamic wine, and I have to say I really enjoyed it. My recommendation - the 2015 Brunello di Montalcino Riserva is to die for.
We visited Montalcino on a full day trip from Florence, wanting to do a wine tour. This one was amazing, mostly because of our fantastic hosts Giovanni and Mario, who gave us the tour. There are 2 wine-tasting menus, and they helped us pick out the one best suited to us and helped us choose wines while wine shopping! Very professional and knowledgeable.

WALK AROUND THE TUSCAN VINEYARDS
Your guide will first lead you through the winery’s exterior, guiding you around the picturesque vineyards and strolling down the Brunello Cru path. Peer through the green leaves for glimpses of the red Sangiovese grapes that are the basis for the famous Brunello di Montalcino wine. You’ll also have a fantastic view of the town of Montalcino, surrounded by the sloping Tuscan hills.
DESCEND INTO THE SWEET-SMELLING WINE CELLAR
The next stop is the grape processing area and the cross-vaulted wine cellar. Breathe in the sweet scents and listen as your knowledgeable guide explains the details of wine-making. For example, did you know there are seven steps? Your guide will briefly explain them all: growing, harvesting, crushing, pressing, fermentation, clarification, and aging/bottling. The longer a wine is aged, the stronger its flavor.
TASTE SIX LOCAL WINES
Your Brunello wine tour ends with a wine-tasting session! There are two menus to choose from: the Dynamic Brunello Cru Tasting (featuring solely the best Brunello wines) and the Signature Corte Pavone Tasting (a broader range of the region’s wines). Whatever you choose, the wine will be served with gourmet small bites, so you can truly indulge in the best food-wine pairings.
HEAD HOME WITH A FULL BELLY
Leave the winery well-rested and well-fed. On the way back, why not stop by the Sant'Antimo Abbey near Montalcino? A former Benedictine monastery, the site is a Romanesque architectural gem and well worth visiting.
