Thank you, e-bike!

I was nervous going on the tour due to my current physical readiness (or lack thereof). Thankfully, I noticed that e-bikes were still available. It was easy to complete the tour on the e-bike. I was free to focus on the beauty of the Tuscan hills and surrounding vineyards. The guide was very informative and funny. Great tour!

Matteo
Amazing bike tour through Tuscany!

As a frequent rider, naturally, I love bike tours when visiting other countries. This one was no exception. The ride was very easy and enjoyable, and the views of Florence were stunning! Our guide Antonio was hilarious at times and always very informative. A few uphill cycling brought a few relaxing descents as well - and the ride down is always therapeutic for me. All in all, a great experience and for me the best way to experience the Tuscan countryside.

DESCRIPTION

Tuscany Bike Tour

PREPARE YOURSELF FOR THE BEAUTY OF TUSCANY

After arriving at the meeting point, everyone will gather, and you will be provided with the most suitable bike and a protective helmet. Then, you slowly start to make your way out of Florence. Your guide will accompany you and lead the tour towards the Tuscan countryside. Prepare for the Mediterranean beauty of central Italy!

THE TUSCAN COUNTRYSIDE

After the Porta Romana gate, you will encounter the first hill. On the top, you are awaited by your first view of a major landmark. The main landmark visible from this place is Villa del Poggio Imperiale, a Medici family villa and UNESCO World Heritage Site dating from the Middle Ages. From this point onwards, you will be in the Tuscan countryside so prepare your eyes for green fields and hills covered by vineyards, olive farms, and cypress trees.

FINE TUSCAN WINES AND COLD CUTS

A relaxing bike ride continues through the Tuscan hills, this time an effortless 45-minute stretch where you can enjoy the picturesque views of Tuscany. Immediately, your destination is a family-owned farm where you can experience central Italy's gourmet tastes. Find out how olive oil and wine are produced through small-scale, family-run sustainable practices. Taste the local Chianti wine paired with homemade olive oil and high-quality cold cuts. This little sit-down wine tasting is sure to leave an impression in more areas than one!

DOWNHILL RETURN TO FLORENCE

After the wine and olive oil tasting, you will start your return to Florence. This journey will be very comfortable as you ride downhill; thus, you do not need to worry about pedaling on a full stomach. On your way down, you will stop at the San Miniato al Monte. Besides seeing and learning about this basilica from your guide, you will also be treated to a spectacular view of Florence. Step down from your bike to stretch your legs and take in the beauty of Florence from above. It will be the perfect view to end your bike tour!

For the day after your exciting bike tour, plan a different but equally rich experience – join our Tuscany Food and Wine Tour and visit Siena, San Gimignano, and Pisa on a day trip from Florence, featuring wine tastings and a homemade lunch at a top Tuscan winery.

Tuscany - focus of Italian culture

Tuscany had a significant influence on culture and art for the whole of Europe and, thus, the world. The city of Florence was the first European city to have pavements. The paving dates back to 1339 and was started due to the influence of wealthy merchants and bankers of the time. While the language on the Apennine peninsula historically was Latin, modern Italian was derived from a specific dialect spoken in Tuscany during the Renaissance period.
